Help me! I need help deciding about the G1 cellphone from T-mobile.?
I don't know if i should buy the G1. I mean its a swivel and a touch screen. It can't get any better than that. Does the battery last long. Does it have a camera? If so is the camera good? Is the signal good. Do you have to get google on your plan if so how much is it. What do you have tog e tin your plan besides in. to talk with. Is there anything necessary. Please help. I am really thinking of getting this phone. i was going to get the behold but it is to expensive then i wanted the sidekick (the older version for $99) then i decided on the G1. So am i going with the right decision. I want email, a camera, a touch or swivel, email, messaging, games. It doesn't have to have all of that just the camera, games, and touch or swivel.

The G1's camera is slow and laggy. It's also extremely awkward to hold and take a picture of yourself with one hand (lol). The games are okay, but nothing amazingly exciting or fun besides this typing game called TxtSpeed. It's clunky and matte and ugly, but the keys are very easy to type on. The touch screen is beautiful and responsive but it freezes up a lot. Battery life is 4 hours max. Even if you turn all the extra notifications and signals off, which is difficult because they turn themselves back on. I returned mine and left T-Mobile because most of their phones suck, like their coverage.
The signal was always fine, basic T-Mobile coverage area signal. When you turn on the phone it asks for your Gmail email account (free) to sync everything, which is cool. You have to pay for a G1 Internet plan -- $30 a month for unlimited text/video messaging and Internet in addition to your voice plan. I think you'd be better off with a Sidekick. Or a myTouch, if no physical keyboard and battery life don't concern you.
