Most convenient cell phone/PDA for a mom? ?

I'm planning on getting a new phone for my mother on Christmas...but I just don't know which kind. She's not really into the new stuff (like touch screen.. I think it'll be really confusing for her) But I want her to get a nice, convenient one. Help would be appreciated :)

On the contrary, a good touch-screen phone like the G1 is very intuitive. I'm 53, and when I got my hands on one, I had no problem at all with it.
