Touch Pad or Nano, Which Ipod is Better
The ipod touch is Apple's latest version of ipod's available to consumers today, and it is by far the greatest ipod created by Apple. It is basically the iphone, minus the ability to make calls. It offers a thin design, touch screen, app's can be downloaded, connectivity to the internet via wi-fi capabilities, the ability to watch video, download video, oh yeah, you can listen to music on it too. If you are looking for the best ipod, by far, which has been created by Apple, the ipod touch is leaps and bounds ahead of all other ipod's which have come before it.
The older ipod's, the first generation, are still sold, but only offer the ability to listen to music. The user interface is not very friendly, it only comes in black and white (no color screen), it is very plain, and the click wheel can sometimes lag. It also dies rather quickly, requiring the product to be replaced every two years or so. Although it does offer great storage capacity depending on the GB purchased, it is really an old technology when you look at the ipod touch. The good news here is you can normally pick a used first generation ipod up for as little as 20 bucks. You will most likely need to crack the ipod open and replace the battery so buying a used first gen Ipod should only be considered if your a little tech savvy.
Next came the color screen version of the original ipod. Although it is more user friendly, and allows users to watch video, that's as far as it goes. It still features the click wheel which lags, the screen to watch video is tiny and strains the eyes, and the speaker quality is not up to par with the touch. Although a big improvement from the original ipod, it still lags far behind the capabilities of the ipod touch.
There is also the nano, which is a great mp3 player, if all you want is music, and nothing more. The downfall with these, is they don't offer much storage space. However, if you are looking for a strict music player, it is a great option to choose from. Nano's as the name implies are very small and light. It's a great device for those who listen to music as they work out or are on the go all the time and want as little weight on them as possible.
But, the ultimate winner is the ipod touch. Offering everything the iphone does, minus the calls, it is a great device. It's touch screen is user friendly, easy to download music and video to, and speaker quality has been greatly improved. If you are on the market for an ipod today, the ipod touch is definitely the choice to make. If you have music on an older iphone you can search online for methods that teach you how to transfer music from Ipod to computer.
