Android, Google Maps Permissions?
When I installed Google Maps (updates) to my Motorola Droid Android OS phone, it says that the App needs a whole bunch of permissions, including access to "Your Personal Information", "Services that Cost You Money", "System Tools", etc.. is this normal? I can't find any other documentation about it.
Phone is running Android 2.1, app is Maps version 4305.
Yes, it's normal. All Android Apps tell you that before you install them. It's just saying that the program is tied into your phone, and might use other resources to do certain things. For example, Google Maps uses the internet, which technically costs you money, so it has to say "Services that cost you money". It has Google Latitude, which shows your friends where you are, so that's "Your location" and "Your personal information". It's nothing to worry about.
