Can I use an older model sprint branded CDMA phone for sprint service?
This morning, my Sprint, samsung A640 cell phone snapped. I need to get another phone soon but I don't want to upgrade my phone and thus have to renew my contract. I don't have insurance on the phone. My question is, could I use any older model CDMA cell phone as long as its Sprint-branded? I want to purchase one from ebay.
Yes you can as long as it's not 2g....Sprint is doing away with the 2g network so you will not be able to utilize a 2g phone on the Sprint network anylonger. Keep in mind that most phones made before the year 2004 are going to be 2g.
