Verizon question about cell phone problem?
Two months ago I replaced my phone because it got wet. I had no insurance for it so I had to buy a new one. My contract still had not expired. Now, I'm having trouble with my "new" phone. It's a Samsung Reality. the screen is completely black and sometimes the screen comes up again but the colors are all distorted and weird looking. Again, I have no insurance for this phone. My question is, can I go into Verizon and replace it for a much cheaper fee than buying it again? If not, is the only option to buy the phone again?
Most cell phones come with a 1 year warranty. If you have online access to your account, review your contract to see if your phone is under warranty. The cell phone company will probably be the one to help you. For instance, several months ago, I had just gotten my T-Mobile G1 Android phone and noticed that the battery life was terrible. An inside friend of mine, who works for T-Mobile Technical Support, told me that I could get 2 free batteries to help with the problem. He said, they would replace the battery as long as I sent the new one back. He added that I should call HTC Customer Service directly to explain the problem; that they would send me a new, improved battery for free, without the need of me sending one back.
In short, don't rely only on the cell phone company. After all, the one responsible for the performance of your phone is the manufacturer. So, call Samsung USA's Customer/Product support and ask them to make good on their product. Trust me, they'll listen.
